NEW ORLEANS - Faulkner's serve reception struggled Friday night in an SSAC matchup with Loyola, allowing 11 aces in the three set sweep by the Wolf Pack 25-14, 25-22, 25-21.
Loyola set the tone early, serving up five aces in the first set, including a run of three straight from Casey Aucoin during a 10-0 run as they took set one handedly.
The Lady Eagles charged to a 20-13 lead in the second set and looked to level things out, but the Wolf Pack went on a 12-2 run to steal the second set.
After dropping the first point of the third set, Faulkner won the next two to take a short-lived lead as Loyola took the lead for good off a block tied at four a piece. Six times in the set after that moment, the Lady Eagles brought the set to a two-point margin but they could not sneak closer.
Hannah Bryan's double-double shone the brightest in a rough night for Faulkner. The freshman led the team in both kills and digs with 10 and 12, respectively. She was the only one to eclipse double figures in those categories.
Alyssa Stagner finished with 17 assists.
Kortney Barnes assisted on three blocks.
The Lady Eagles look to bounce back Saturday afternoon against Mobile at 2 p.m.
