MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner fell in a tough four set match against hot-hitting Loyola 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20) Friday morning at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl, concluding the season with an overall record of 14-11.
Tied at 19 in the fourth set,
Mallory Black's attack hit the net and not the wall after a discussion from the officials to determine the outcome and the Lady Eagles could not rebound against a Wolf Pack side that would end on a 7-1 run to win its third straight elimination match.Â
Faulkner, much like the meeting eight days ago against Loyola, dropped the first two sets before rallying to take the third, jumping to a 9-3 advantage. The Wolf Pack chipped away at the lead before an 8-3 run pushed the Lady Eagles ahead for good.Â
The Lady Eagles blocked 10 Wolf Pack attacks with
Kortney Barnes blocking four solo and assisting on three. She also led the squad with 15 kills.
Hannah Bryan ended with 10 kills and eight digs while assisting two blocks.
Alysa Vinson led Faulkner with 18 digs.
Alyssa Stagner amassed 40 assists and 14 digs.
Sarah-Gracen Watts served two aces.
Emily Sheperis led Loyola with 18 kills and two blocks as the Wolf Pack hit 60 kills in the four-set affair.Â
