Road runs to an end against Roadrunners

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Two first half goals from Guilherme Franca proved too much to overcome for the Eagles Wednesday in a 3-0 loss to No. 6 Dalton State in the SSAC semifinals at the Emory Folmar Soccer Complex.

Franca buried a scramble in the 9th minute before doubling the advantage in the 28th. Faulkner's best look of the night came in the 51st minute when Ilan Tabet laced a shot just inches high of the bar after finding space atop the 18 on a square ball.

Nine minutes later, following a thrilling recovery save from Cristobal Romero, who dove and stretched to the opposite top corner to stop a second effort off the crossbar, Justin Riescher delivered the dagger to finalize the scoreline.

The Eagles finish the season 4-10-1 with its highest ever conference finish at fourth with a 2-4 record.
