HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Antoine Marques drew the Eagles within one in the 25th minute, but the 15th-ranked Crusaders, who have not lost in regulation in SSAC play since 2015, ran away with three goals in seven minutes to push the match out of reach before eventually reaching the 8-1 final line to start conference play.

Faulkner (1-7, 0-1 SSAC) looked to replicate the 2015 win over William Carey, but the Crusaders (7-2, 1-0 SSAC) peppered the net with 13 shots on target and clinically finishing eight of them. 

Marques's fifth goal of the season came with help from Matheus Rodrigues for the lone tally past a William Carey backline anchored by captain Sacha Vandersteene who will be soon joining the Madagascar National Team in World Cup Qualifiers. 

Seven different Crusaders scored in the match. 

Faulkner takes on the sixth-ranked team in the country Saturday with a road trip to Mobile. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. The first team to score has won every meeting via shutout between the two teams in the 12-match history.
