HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Faulkner fell behind early against No. 5 William Carey in a 8-1 defeat Thursday night.
The Crusaders, who are second in the country in goals per game, took a 3-0 lead by the 18th minute before a four goal flurry fell in 12 minutes between the 52nd and 64th minutes.
Annabel Cuthbert got one back in the 67th minute for her ninth goal of the season. She and
Alessia Confalonieri are tied for the team lead and on the brink of becoming the first double-digit goal scorer in a season since 2019 for the program.
Keila Cardeiro saved 11 shots in the loss, her second double-figure save total of the season.
Faulkner is in fourth in the SSAC with 7 points, three points ahead of Life and Brewton-Parker for the final hosting spot in the conference tournament first round, and three points behind third place Middle Georgia State. The Lady Eagles are five points behind second place Mobile who comes to Billy D. Hilyer Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m.
