COLUMBIA, Ky. – Faulkner kept it close for a time Saturday before a Blue Raider barrage resulted in a 37-7 Lindsey Wilson victory.
The Eagles scuffled offensively for much of the day, finding their lone score on a six-play, 92-yard drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown pass from
Ben Anderson to
Satyler Wilson with 7:09 left in the second quarter. The ensuing
Caden Davis kick narrowed the gap to 13-7. The score stayed there until the Blue Raiders gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about with 24 unanswered points in the second half, anchored by a trio of rushing touchdowns.
Lindsey Wilson totaled 347 yards on 65 plays and picked up 24 first downs. Faulkner answered with 163 yards on 53 plays and tallied 11 first downs.
Anderson connected on 12 of his 18 pass attempts for 180 yards. Wilson accounted for most of the Faulkner passing game yardage as he hauled in four passes for 100 yards.
Jerrell Williamson topped the defense with 10 total tackles.
Jailen Clemons and
Mekhi Jones each intercepted a pass.
The loss moves Faulkner to 2-6 in the lifetime series and 0-5 all-time in Columbia, Ky.
Faulkner (3-4, 2-3 MSC) hits the road next week to travel to San Antonio, Texas when it takes on NCAA Division I FCS opponent University of The Incarnate Word.
