Trace Hill made a layup with 5:33 to play before a pair of
Jonathan Garcia free throws. Hunter Scurlock had a personal 4-0 run to cut the lead to 72-69 with 3:46 remaining. Garcia drained a three with 3:16 to play and Faulkner made seven free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Freed-Hardeman shot 54.5 percent from the floor while Faulkner hit 45.3 percent of its attempts from the field. The Eagles made 80 percent of their free throws in the game and won the rebounding battled 41-24. Faulkner pulled 17 offensive rebounds to take the second chance points margin 20-4.
C.J. Hines and Garcia finished with 26 points each while
Daniel Garmendia scored 15 in the effort.
Faulkner (2-0) returns to play Saturday night when it hosts Oakwood to close out the Jimmy Faulkner Classic.
