MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and found itself in a tie midway through the second before completely taking over Thursday night. From that point, Lady Eagles embarked on a 12-2 run to build a lead it would not lose on the way to a 78-61 win over Brewton-Parker.
Faulkner dominated the paint, winning the rebounding battle 53-29 and taking points in the paint 54-24. The Lady Eagles shot 48.6 percent from the field despite making only three of 21 shots from deep.
Angela Grant turned in her 31st career double-double, grabbing a personal high 20 rebounds to go along with 11 points.
Morgan Holland led all scorers with a career high 25 points while
Nequoia Adams added 20 and
Kinlee Varnell had contributed 18.
Faulkner (9-1, 2-0 SSAC) returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Talladega at 5:30 p.m.
