MOBILE, Ala. - The final nonconference tune-up ended in a 3-1 defeat for the Eagles Tuesday at Library Field against Spring Hill as the Badgers took advantage of two goals in the first six minutes of the match.
Just 4:04 into the match, the NCAA DII side struck first before doubling it just 2:14 later. Faulkner steadied the ship through the interval but a 60th minute penalty put the match further out of reach.
Felipe Pineiro drew one back in the 63rd minute with a long distance shot over the keeper for his second goal of the season.
Faulkner sits a 3-4 and enters its first conference weekend Sept. 29 and Oct. 1 when it travels to Blue Mountain and Talladega.
