MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - Faulkner's offense fired on all cylinders as the Lady Eagles (13-6, 3-2 SSAC) easily took care of business in the first conference road game of the year 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-10) Friday night in a sweep of Brewton-Parker (1-12, 1-5 SSAC).
The lifetime series continues to skew towards the Lady Eagles who have won 54 of the 58 all-time matches including 23 in a row with the last loss being on Sept. 22, 2009. 43 of the wins have come in straight sets.
The Lady Eagles killed 18 of their 25 points on 36 swings in the first set with just three errors for an outrageous .417 attack percentage led by
Molly Presnell's six kills.
After a Baron attack error on the first point, three straight
Alyssa Stagner aces set the tone for the second set that Faulkner would thrice string together four straight points.
In the final set, the offense and defense closed out the match strong, hitting .321 while holding Brewton-Parker to a negative clip for the second time in the three set contest.
Victoria Wheeler controlled both sides of the net, hitting an absurd nine kills on 11 swings with no errors for an .818 attack percentage with a team-high three blocks.
Charlee Jordan had two blocks in her first match back as did both Julia and
Kendall Rice.
Presnell's 12 digs led the floor as
Mandi Hart turned in a double-double with 11 digs and 13 assists. Stagner was one dig away from a double-double herself with 14 assists. Faulkner hit .313 on the night while holding the Barons to a goose egg in the attack percentage category.
Faulkner hits the road to Macon to take on Middle Georgia State (3-7, 1-5 SSAC) Saturday at 1 p.m. central.
