MOBILE, Ala. - Faulkner couldn't find a way past Mobile's stingy defense Thursday night in SSAC play as the Rams held the visitors to a zero attack percentage as the Lady Eagles fell in straight sets 25-16, 25-11, 25-12.
Mandi Hart opened the match with back-to-back aces and
Haven Owings collected consecutive kills to jump to a 6-2 lead but the Rams whittled away at the lead before taking it an 11-10. Faulkner forced a couple of ties before Mobile turned a 12-12 tie into a 22-13 advantage to ease into the first set win.
Trailing 11-8 in the second, a service error from the Rams, a kill from
Rhi Keck and one from Owings were the only three points Faulkner would get for the set. Mobile won seven of the first eight points of the third set to cruise to the sweep.
The Lady Eagles look to snap the five match skid Saturday on the road at Stillman.
