MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Joaquin Collazo III turned in an all-time performance for Bethel as the Wildcats spoiled Faulkner's Homecoming 62-0. The Bethel signal-caller threw for 385 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the No. 10 team in the country to victory, matching the largest margin of defeat in Faulkner history and marking the worst loss against an NAIA opponent.
Faulkner had nine yards of total offense until
Raequan Beal scrambled to extend a play and slung the ball downfield to
Daimon Hitchcock for a 67-yard gain in the waning seconds of the third quarter. The Eagles ended the day with 87 yards of total offense.
The Eagles' only scoring threat came after the play to Hitchcock. Faulkner got the ball to just shy of the Bethel goal line before turning the ball over on downs.
Ty Simpson had an interception for the Eagle defense.
Caden Davis punted 12 times for 493 yards, averaging 41.1 per kick.
Faulkner (1-7, 0-5 MSC) hosts Point Saturday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. for the final home game of the season.
