MARIETTA, Ga. - Faulkner fell behind early and could not take a set off of Life Saturday afternoon despite a tough second set battle 25-13, 25-21, 25-15.
The Running Eagles jumped ahead early behind .387 hitting in the first set with just one attack error.
The two sides traded runs in the second set to start it off before Life pulled ahead 10-5. Faulkner chipped away at the deficit before forcing ties at 18, 19 and 20 all. However, Chloe Teter took over with two kills, a block and two aces to close the set on a 5-1 run to take a 2-0 match lead.
In the third set, Faulkner jumped to a 6-1 lead, but Life quickly flipped it to a 17-10 lead to seal the match.
Hannah Bryan led the team with seven kills and added 10 digs.
Mandi Hart had 10 assists to lead the Lady Eagles.
Ashton McCullar had 12 digs.
The Lady Eagles return to Montgomery to wrap up the road swing with a trimatch at Huntingdon on Monday with the Hawks and Tuskegee.
