COCHRAN, Ga. – Faulkner scarcely trailed Saturday on the way to an 81-74 SSAC road victory against Middle Georgia State. The Eagles shot 50.9 percent from the floor including an impressing 56 percent from deep on 25 attempts. Faulkner also controlled the glass, out-pacing MGA in rebounds 34-24.
Both teams took care of the ball with Faulkner committing only eight turnovers and the Knights just four. Each squad had 17 assists in the contest. Faulkner made 13 of 19 free throw attempts in the game while leading for 35 minutes on the afternoon.
The backcourt combination of 
Jonathan Garcia and 
Jayden Cooper anchored the scoring effort for Faulkner while 
Aidan Carter put together a career showing in the post. Garcia poured in 28 points to lead all scorers, highlighted by four makes from beyond the arc. Cooper finished with 26 points, four rebounds and four assists, knocking down seven threes in the victory. For his part, Carter turned in the first double-double of his career, finishing with career highs in points at 10 and rebounds at 11.
Faulkner (6-4, 2-2 SSAC) returns to action Sunday, Dec. 10 when it hosts Stillman at 2:30 p.m.
