WALESKA, Ga. – Faulkner lost a midweek tilt to Reinhardt 12-6 Tuesday, dropping it to below the .500 mark on the season.
The Eagles took an early lead when
Cristian Martin single home
Evan Gilliam in the top of the first.
Zakary Farris grounded out to plate Martin and more the lead to 2-0.
Tucker Zdunich then took over for Reinhardt. He doubled home two runs in the second inning and hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Reinhardt added two runs in the fifth and five more in the seventh to go up 11-2. In all, Zdunich accounted for seven of the 12 Reinhardt runs, driving in three and scoring four.
Faulkner's biggest offensive swing of the game came in the ninth when Martin hit a three-run homer.
Gilliam, Martin and
Jorge Lucero each had two hits for the Eagles with Martin driving in four runs in the game.
Faulkner (13-14) returns to action Friday when it travels to Blue Mountain Christian in a return to conference play.
