MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Tanielu Mose is the newest assistant volleyball coach as announced by Head Coach
Tori Renda Tuesday. "It feels like back home," Mose, an alumnus of Faulkner (2012) said. "I feel like I can come over here and help Coach Tori in bettering this program for future teams. I'm excited about it."
He owns and operates Mana Toa Volleyball, a travel club, in Prattville, Ala. with his wife Wendy who was a member of the volleyball team in 2009-2010. He coached LAMP High School to a state tournament appearance in 2021.
For the Bay Area, Calif. native it was an easy decision to join the Faulkner volleyball program. "When she asked to get on the phone, I kind of had an idea of what it was going to be and if it was what I thought it would be, I already knew my answer."
"I'm thrilled," Renda said about the hire. "It's nice to have somebody that I have a relationship with that goes way back. I've gotten to see him grow and become an amazing father and husband and then build his own volleyball club. It's been awesome to watch his journey with that. Mose now being part of the staff is a huge blessing."
Mose joined the Faulkner family initially in 2010 when he played linebacker for the football team. After his playing time, he switched his attention to volleyball and joined the volleyball coaching staff as an assistant in 2012.
He fills the vacancy on the coaching staff left by Julianne Wilkes accepting an assistant coaching position at NCAA DII University of West Florida. "She is definitely missed but we're thrilled for her next journey. The seamlessness that we coached together was unmatched. She could think about what I was about to think and then take action right away and that's something nobody will be able to replace."
