MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner blitzed past Middle Georgia 81-48 Saturday afternoon at Tine Davis Gymnasium behind an intense defensive performance in SSAC play to pick up its ninth win in 10 games.
Ruthie Smith took command of the afternoon with 11 points and six boards in the first quarter as the Lady Eagles trailed for just 18 seconds in the frame before taking a 18-8 lead into the second. Smith ended the game with 13 points and 15 rebounds.Â
The rest of the game turned into full glass dominance with a 58-31 rebound margin while holding the Knights to just 30.8 percent shooting. The Lady Eagles held MGA to just 16 points in the first half jumping the lead to 21 points.Â
Evaiah Burrows tied Smith with 13 points to lead the team.

Nequoia Adams each added 11.
Dee Guinn added
Savannah Crimm had a career-best six points in just four minutes. Faulkner got 39 points from the bench.Â
Ella Jane Connell set a new career high with five rebounds.
Kinlee Varnell finished with seven points and eight boards.
Morgan Holland added seven rebounds.Â
Faulkner got points from 11 different players in the afternoon to keep pace in the SSAC standings with Life, who defeated Brewton-Parker Saturday, in a tie for third just a half game back of second place Mobile, who beat Point Saturday.
The Lady Eagles welcome league juggernaut Loyola to Tine Davis Gymnasium Thursday night for an important SSAC clash at 5:30.
