MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Eagles started the half keeping the game close. Mobile reached a double-digit lead off a three-pointer from Joshua Williams at the 15:30 mark. From there on Faulkner lost the grip. The whole first half the Eagles fought hard to stay in the game. Mobile would push the lead, but Faulkner would come back with an answer. The Rams went into the half up 46 to 29.
Straight out the gate in the second half, the Eagles hit the Rams with three straight buckets to bring Faulkner back within 10. The Rams then went on a run of their own pushing the lead to 17 with a pair of free throws from Ezra McKenna at 9:52 on the clock.
The Eagles then began to build a comeback. They were able to bring the game within 10 three times late in the second half, but the Rams would not let the lead go. The Eagles fell short in the end despite how hard they fought the entire game.
