PULASKI, Tenn. - A couple quick goals after halftime were the difference as Faulkner fell 2-1 to (RV) Tennessee Southern Saturday afternoon at Grissom Pitch.

Freire opened the scoring in the 25th minute, after he received a pass from Caio de Luna Gomes before a tight control dribble with four defenders closing in on him and hopped a shot into the bottom right corner. It was his sixth goal of the year and 12th career goal which ties him for ninth all-time in goals scored.

Faulkner held that lead until halftime when just 28 seconds later, UTS found the equalizer before converting a corner kick in the 50th to score the go ahead goal. The Eagles put four more shots on goal after that, but could not locate a tying effort. 

Faulkner now turns its attention to a matchup with Thomas Saturday afternoon at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium at 4:30 p.m. in another SSAC contest. Read Full Article
