MARIETTA, Ga. -
Konsti Witte scored half an hour in, but (RV) Life scored four second half goals to hand Faulkner a 4-1 loss Saturday afternoon at Lupo Family Field in the SSAC Game of the Week.
Witte pressed the keeper in the 31st minute and knocked home the first goal of the match as the keeper took him out. It was his fourth goal in the past four matches.
However, Faulkner could not add to the lead as Life flipped the script in the second half as the visitors shot just four times to the hosts' 15 leading to goals in the 64th to tie and the 79th to take the lead.
Moments later, Faulkner had a two-on-one opportunity with appeals for a penalty that went unanswered just before Life doubled the advantage in the 83rd and delivered the final dagger with just seconds left to go.
It marked the first time in the series history that the home team won the match.
The Eagles fall to 4-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in SSAC play but are still tied for third in the league table with No. 2 Dalton State.
Faulkner travels to Blue Mountain Thursday afternoon for a 5 p.m. kickoff in SSAC play.
