HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Faulkner saw its season come to an end Thursday afternoon in a 7-0 loss to No. 1 William Carey in the first round of the SSAC Women's Soccer Championship.
The Lady Crusaders scored twice within a minute just 10 minutes into the match to take a 2-0 lead and did not relent, scoring a third in the 21st.
Taylor Waters stopped six shots in the half as the No. 1 team in the nation who looks to make their 13th consecutive SSAC Championship match next week.Â
WCU scored four more in the second half with 22 total shots in the frame with Waters saving five more.Â
The Lady Eagles concluded the season 7-10-1 and made the SSAC Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals for consecutive seasons after missing two in a row previously.Â
