WALESKA, Ga. - Faulkner Men's Golf finds itself in the middle of the pack after a challenging first day at Lake Arrowhead Country Club, finishing the first two rounds 39-over-par while
Shelby Hughes contends for a top 10 finish at the Eagle's Open.
As a team, Faulkner Men's is 39-over-par and nine shots behind fourth place Freed-Hardeman. Host Reinhardt leads the field by 16 strokes at three-under-par with an outrageous nine-under-par second round.
The returners are leading the way with
Garrett Jurkofsky and
Juan Cespedes tied for 12th at seven-over-par after 36 holes, with Jurkofsky finishing the first round one-over-par and Cespedes carding an even par 71 in the second round.Â
Lucas Nicola sits in 23rd in his Faulkner debut shooting a five-over-par 76 both rounds.
Mac Moorer, who's competing as an individual, is 28th in the 54 golfer field with a 13-over-par 155, fueled by a four-over-par 75 in his first collegiate round.Â
Leo Testas holds 33rd with a 15-over-par 36 hole to round out the counting scores for Faulkner.Â
Ernest Juglar carved four shots off his first round to end the day in 53rd with a 40-over-par score as the fifth in the scores counting team.
Judson Graham and
Cooper Osborne occupy 51st and 54th with a 31-over-par and 49-over par total, respectively.Â
On the women's side,
Shelby Hughes is tied for 11th at 20-over-par, turning in a nine-over-par second round.
Eden Shipp completed two 22-over-par rounds to be tied 24th with the women's golfers competing as individuals.Â
The Eagles tee off at 7:30 a.m. with 18 more holes ready to play on Tuesday to close the tournament.Â
