LAKE WALES, Fla. - Faulkner held Warner scoreless Saturday morning at Royals Field in a 3-0 win that saw
Jordan Parker and
Emily Hardman opened their scoring accounts and
Oluwatomisin Eludipo scored her second for the finishing touch on the match as bolstered by a seven save clean sheet for
Mireia Ferrero Rosino.
Rosino stopped three shots before
Jordan Parker scored her first collegiate goal which proved to be the match winner in the 22nd minute as Faulkner forced a high turnover and centered the ball to the freshman who put Faulkner in the lead.
The Royals tested the goal twice more, unable to get around the Madrileña as the visitors took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Faulkner took the first four shots of the second half, trying to add to the lead, but Warner countered with the next six shots including one that hit off the crossbar that would have tied the game in a seven minute stretch.
Emily Hardman saw a free kick from distance and fancied her chances as the centerback shot from distance and scored to make it 2-0 in the 65th minute. Faulkner flipped the momentum around the English centerback's first career goal and allowed just one more shot until Tomi broke free and converted the one-on-one chance in the 79th minute to seal the game.
Rosino made a couple more stops at the end to hold the third clean sheet of the season for the Lady Eagles. In the last four matches opponents have only scored once against Faulkner with the only other goal coming from an own goal.
The Lady Eagles improve to 4-1-1 and are in good form running into SSAC play on Thursday at home at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium against Dalton State.
