Mid-South Conference Announces Football Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands' (Ky.) Drew Gregg and Faulkner's (Ala.) Davian Liddell and Caleb Williams are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

MSC Football Defensive Player of the Week

Caleb Williams – Faulkner (Ala.) – Sr. – Defensive Back – Biloxi, Miss.

• Williams helped the Faulkner defense to a 41-15 win over Union Commonwealth (Ky.) on Saturday.
• He recorded four tackles, including assisting with a tackle for a loss.
• Williams added his third interception and fifth pass breakup of the season.
• He leads the Mid-South Conference with the three interceptions.
• Williams helped the Eagles improve to 3-1 this season.
• He earns his first weekly conference honor of his career.

MSC Football Offensive Player of the Week

Drew Gregg – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Sr. – Quarterback – Newport, Tenn.

• Gregg led the Patriots to a 27-14 road win at Warner (Fla.) on Saturday. 
• He connected on 14-of-22 passes for 137 yards with three touchdowns.
• Gregg added 64 rushing yards on 17 attempts.
• He is tied for the Mid-South Conference lead with 11 touchdown passes this season and ranks third in the conference, averaging 196.5 passing yards per game.
• Cumberlands improves to 3-1 on the season with last week's win.
• Gregg earns his first weekly conference honor of his career.

MSC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Davian Liddell – Faulkner (Ala.) – Jr. – Wide Receiver – Byram, Miss.

• Liddell returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown to help Faulkner to Saturday's win at Union Commonwealth.
• The kickoff return touchdown came right after a Union Commonwealth score and with 24 seconds remaining in the half.
• Liddell finished the game averaging 48.5 yards per kickoff return.
• He added three receptions for 34 yards and eight rushing yards to finish with 139 all-purpose yards.
• Liddell earns his first weekly conference honor of his career.
