MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Baseball Players of the Week. Edrien Martinez of Faulkner was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Michael Hotard of Loyola was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The awards are for the week of Feb. 2-8.

Player: Edrien Martinez (Faulkner – SR – INF – Arecibo, P.R.)

·      This is his first-career weekly honor

·      In a series win over No. 8 Webber International, Martinez hit .545 and slugged 1.091, while totaling six hits and 10 RBIs

·      He had a walk-off single in the 8-7 game one victory and totaled two homers and seven RBIs in the game two victory

Pitcher: Michael Hotard (Loyola – JR – LHP – LaPlace, La.)

·      This is his first-career weekly honor

·      Hotard picked up the win over (RV) Indiana Southeast, allowing only one unearned run over six innings

·      He fanned nine and gave up only three hits in the outing
