Courtney Ward, one of the most celebrated players in Florida State University history, joins the 2013-2014 Faulkner women's basketball staff as a graduate assistant coach.

The Montgomery native, who led Jeff Davis High School to the 2006 6A state championship in earning all-state honors, set numerous single season and career marks for the Seminoles during her collegiate career, including most wins (98), 3-pointers in a season (78), 3-pointers in a career (208), season assists (170) and career assists.

Ward finished her career with 1,199 points, becoming just he 24th player in FSU history to break the 1,000-point mark. She also played a key role in leading the Seminoles to back-to-back Atlantic Coast Conference regular season championships and the program's first-ever Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Having earned a bachelor's degree in criminology from FSU in 2011, Ward is currently pursuing a master's degree in education.
