Reed Sutton

Reed Sutton is entering his first year as interim AD, assuming the role in June 2025.

Last season, He turned his attention to building the Cross Country program after 14 seasons of building a strong Women’s Basketball program.  Sutton was hired as the founding Head Coach of the Lady Eagles Women’s Basketball program in the spring of 2010 after a sterling career as a two-time State Champion high school basketball coach at Westbury Christian (TX).  In his career, he has built high school and college programs in Basketball and Tennis. He has also coached Softball and Baseball.

In his 14 seasons as Women’s Basketball coach at Faulkner, his teams had an overall record of 259-177 and a record of 141-99 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.  They saw the National Tournament three times (2013, 2018, 2023), including a Round of 16 appearance in 2013.  The Lady Eagles won the SSAC West Division in 2013 and won the SSAC Tournament in 2023.  Sutton was named SSAC Coach of the Year twice.  He was named SSAC Coach of Character in 2020.  His teams were regularly in the top 25 nationally in Team GPA.  They won the Kay Yow Award for the NAIA level in 12 out of 13 years for raising the most money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

In Sutton's first year at the helm of the Cross Country Program, there were many records broken as a program and individually. Freshmen Brodie Moore and Chloe Helms broke school records in their first collegiate race. Moore then turned around, and broke the 8k record for the school in the next race. Moore and Helms also broke the same school record they set at the beginning of the year in their final regular season race of the year. The Eagles and Lady Eagles also had several runners beat personal records in each race. In the SSAC Cross Country Championship, Chloe finished seventh in the race and broke yet another school record for the 6k. Helms also earned SSAC All-Conference and All-Freshman after an amazing first year with the Lady Eagles.

A native of Holland, Michigan (Hamilton HS), Sutton earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology in 1997 from Michigan Christian College (now Rochester Christian University) where he played one year of college baseball.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Movement Science from Grand Valley State University in 2000 and a Master’s Degree in Education - Administration/Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2005.

Sutton and his wife Darla were married in 1993.  They have four children - Marisa, Kylie, Brady, and Katelyn - and one granddaughter, Eleanor.
