Great goalkeeping earns Lady Eagles hard-fought draw at Dalton State

A stellar 11 save clean sheet by Rakeema Najiy helped the Lady Eagles (1-7-2, 0-3-1 SSAC) earn a 0-0 double-overtime draw Saturday on the road at Dalton State (6-4-2, 0-3-1 SSAC) in a conference meeting to earn their first result of the SSAC schedule.

The Faulkner defense held strong throughout the 110 mintue contest the Roadrunners attempted 10 corner kicks and shot 17 times. 

Laney Eden led the visitors with two shots, both on frame in the 110 minute stalemate. 

The Lady Eagles put three shots on target in the match but were unable to sneak one past Sydnee Newton.

Faulkner will host Brewton-Parker Thursday night at 5 p.m. as both teams will hunt their first conference wins of the season. Senior day will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. when the Lady Eagles welcome Middle Georgia State to Billy D. Hilyer Stadium for another SSAC matchup. We will honor the seniors before the contest.
