Box Score The Lady Eagles (1-4-1) took a hard-earned draw today against NCAA Division III Wesleyan College at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium 1-1 after double overtime.
Emmy Copeland got Faulkner on top early with a floating shot over the keeper from Mary-Lynne Peel's corner kick in the seventh minute.
Faulkner dominated play with 32 shots in the contest, putting 12 on target. Some very good saves from Wesleyan goalie Carlee Dykes and some unfortunate bounces off the woodwork allowed Wesleyan to hang in by a thread.
In the 80th minute, Fetlework Blitch collected a scramble in the box from a free kick and equalized the contest.
The Lady Eagles, much like regulation, controlled the game in overtime but could not find the golden goal despite holding the Wolves shotless in extra 20 minutes.
Rakeema Najiy (1-4-1) collected three saves in the 110 minute stalemate.
Faulkner will have 12 days off to prepare for No. 3 William Carey's visit to Billy D. Hilyer Stadium to open Southern States Athletic Conference play. That contest will take place on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 5:30.
