Box Score Three goals in eight minutes for 16th-ranked Mobile led the Rams to a 4-0 win over the defensive-minded Lady Eagles (1-6-1, 0-2 SSAC) Saturday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup.
Noemi Mallet found her first goal of the night to break the dam of Faulkner defense in the 37th minute from a set piece taken by Abigal Bush. Bush then found herself a goal from a penalty kick given after a defensive handball in the box in the 40th. Tanja Hymoeller then found the end of a Cheyne Bush cross in the 45th minute to set the scoreline at 3-0 at halftime. Cheyne Bush found her second assist of the night and Mallet her second goal in the 63rd when the shot ricocheted off the defenders in front of goal and into the back of the net.
The Lady Eagles showed signs of improvement under first year head coach Pritchard Ndaira. Last season Mobile defeated Faulkner 9-0 and 9-1 in their two meetings.
Rakeema Najiy recorded nine saves on the evening in the loss.
The home offense was unable to get going, however, with zero shots in the match.
The Lady Eagles will seek their first win in SSAC play Friday in Temple Terrace, Fla. when they face new conference foe Florida College at 10 a.m.
