Box Score

Faulkner took care of the basketball during an encouraging 75-57 victory on the road at Brewton-Parker Thursday night. The Eagles had four players score in double figures and three dish out five assists on a night that saw the team tally 19 assists against only 11 turnovers.

"We shot the ball well. WE had 19 assists on 21 baskets, more shooting and less dribbling," Faulkner Head Coach Scott Sanderson said. "Plus, we shot the ball from the perimeter. That obviously helps your cause a lot too."

Faulkner shot 41.18 percent from the floor as a team, an impressive 46.43 percent from beyond the arc and 83.33 percent from the free throw line to put the Crusaders away early on. The Eagles also clamped down defensively, holding BPC to 32.79 percent shooting and allowing no player to reach double figures.

"They didn't score until the 13-minute mark or so in the game. I thought, defensively, it was one of our better efforts energy wise," Sanderson said. "We jumped on them early a little bit which created some easy baskets in transition for us."

Rene Scott (JR/Mobile, Ala.) led all scorers with 15 points. Sean Edwards (SR/Madison, Ala.) had 12 point and five assists. Adnan Halilovic (SR/Mali Zvornik, Serbia) finished with 10 points while Garrett Sanderson (SO/Montgomery, Ala.) had 10 points and six rebounds. Trace Hill (FR/Hartselle, Ala.) scored eight points and dished five assists. Milan Skundric (JR/Negotin, Serbia) was the top rebounder with 11 boards to go along with five assists.

"They're making like 10 or 11 threes a game. They can really, really shoot it," Scott Sanderson said of Florida College. "They spread the ball around. They're a good passing team. It'll be a totally different game because you have to guard so much floor against them."

Faulkner (11-6, 4-5 SSAC) returns to action Saturday afternoon when it visits Florida College.
