Box Score Pritchard Ndaira picked up his first conference win at the helm for the Faulkner Thursday night at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium in a 2-0 win over the Florida College Lady Falcons. A pair of Faith Pelletier-King (SO/Laval, Quebec, Canada) goals and the eighth clean sheet of the season for the Lady Eagles provided a crucial conference win for Ndaira's squad.
Nanako Omae (JR/Kyoto, Japan) starred in the contest controlling the middle of the field and instigating both goals with prestine passes. The Japanese midfielder set a new school record for assists in a season, finding Pelletier-King with a through ball atop the 18 for a right footed rolling effort past the charging keeper in the 54th minute for her ninth assist. One minute later, Omae struck an outside foot cross from the right side to left winger Camila Parada (SO/Neuquen, Argentina) who elected to lay the ball off to Pelletier-King who had recently shielded a defender to allow the space for Parada. The Canadian forward connected on the centering pass and placed her 12th goal of the season over the Falcon keeper and into the back of the net for the final goal of the match. Omae's 10 assists on the season breaks the single-season record held by Nicole Jagt in 2009.
Megan White (FR/San Angelo, Texas) was stellar in goal once again stopping all eight on frame Florida College efforts. Taylor Strength (JR/Ozark, Ala.) and Wilson Stephen (SO/Montgomery, Ala.) anchored a back line which saw many tactical and personnel changes throughout the match allowing very few of the shots to truly test the freshman keeper. White earned her seventh clean sheet on the season with a save percentage of 86.8%.
The Lady Eagles will travel to Mt. Vernon, Ga. to face Brewton-Parker Thursday at 1 p.m. eastern.
