Faulkner dropped a tough road competition 3-0 to the reigning national champion William Carey Thursday night's SSAC Game of the Week in Hattiesburg, Miss. 

The Lady Crusaders struck first when Gabby Vincent finished off a Silvia Leonessi pass in the third minute. However, Faulkner settled in against the No. 2 team in the country following the early concession, heading into the interval down just 1-0. 

Leonessi earned her second assist in the 64th minute connecting with Ana Paula Santos. Santos completed a brace just six minutes later via Leticia Cupilille's delivery.

Faulkner's defense withstood consistent pressure as William Carey fired 21 shots and earned 10 corners. Megan White (FR/San Angelo, Texas) stopped eight shots in the loss. 

The Lady Eagles, conversely, mustered four shots in the match. They fall to 8-4-1 on the season and 2-2 in SSAC play.

Pritchard Ndaira leads his team against Mobile Saturday afternoon in another SSAC road match. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
