Early lead squandered on Senior Day

Box Score

Nanako Omae (JR/Kyoto, Japan) opened the scoring just 86 seconds into the match after a failed Bethel clearance won by Camila Parada (SO/Neuquen, Argentina), but Bethel scored four unanswered later in the match to take a 4-1 conference win at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium Saturday afternoon on senior day.

Jodi Martin's hat trick off the bench decided the match with goals scored in the 42nd, 62nd and 89th minutes. SSAC leading goal scorer Janine Dennis helped on two assists.

Megan White (FR/San Angelo, Texas) turned in another incredible effort despite the four allowed goals charged to her account. The freshman made 16 saves on the night, bringing her total to 30 on the week.

Senior Ashlyn Lockwood (SR/Montgomery, Ala.) was recognized following the final whistle.

The Lady Eagles enter a crucial road match with Middle Georgia Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. Faulkner is currently tied with Dalton State at 6 points each for the sixth and final spot in the SSAC tournament. The Roadrunners travel to Brewton-Parker to face the Barons Tuesday afternoon as well.
