MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Three goals eight minutes apart from the visiting Carolina Bruins (2-0) dropped the Eagles 4-1 Friday night at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex. Brayan Gomez's 16th minute effort redirected off a Faulkner (1-2-1) defender past Cristobal Romero to open the scoring, leading to a furious stretch of perfect set pieces from the visitors. Pablo Lopez and Mario Salinas struck corner-grazing free kicks in the 23rd and 24th minutes, respectively. Salinas delivered the dagger with an opposite side netting finish just three minutes into the second half.

Felipe Pineiro scrambled his second goal of the season in the 85th minute. The Uruguayan, akin to his goal against Pensacola Christian, found himself at the right place at the right time on a set pice, collecting his own rebound off the corner from Antoine Marques.  

Daniel Oelmez nearly opened his scoring account just 45 seconds into the match getting on the end of a Johnny Doan driven ball from the back line in the biggest chance Faulkner missed in the contest

The two sides combined for 39 fouls and three yellow cards in the physical contest. 

Cristobal Romero made two saves on the evening.
