Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | by: Carter Moles

Lockwood's goal countered by Life's three unanswered

MARIETTA, Ga. - Ainsley Lockwood scored her first collegiate goal just 18 minutes into the match off a set piece delivered by Angelica Justice to put the Lady Eagles in the lead, but the hosts scored the next three as Faulkner (0-4) fell 3-1 to Life (4-0) Saturday night in a rain-soaked affair at Lupo Family Field.

Following a nearly 90 minute weather delay, the third meeting between the two sides began with open flow to the first 15 minutes of the game. Two minutes after Lockwood's header, the Running Eagles took momentum away from the Lady Eagles with a high-side netting finish by Daniela Cianchini across the box from the opposite corner outside the 18. The game winner came four minutes before the interval with the insurance goal coming three minutes after halftime.

Faulkner shot 15 times, five more than its previous season high, with a season-best seven shots on target. Megan White collected six saves in the loss.

The Lady Eagle schedule continues to prove as one of the toughest in the nation as the opponents played are a combined 11-0 against non-Faulkner sides and have outscored their opponents 34-3 at the time of writing.

Tuesday afternoon the Lady Eagles travel to Pulaski, Tenn. to face the RedHawks for the return match of an Oct. 13 match. Kickoff is set for 4:30.
