Nierkrasas's wonder-strike interrupts six RedHawk tallies

PULASKI, Tenn. - In an otherwise Martin Methodist (3-0) controlled game, Martina Nierkrasas scored a brilliant goal right before halftime as the Lady Eagles (0-5) fell 6-1 Tuesday evening at MMC Grissom Pitch.

Down 3-0 in the 42nd minute, Faulkner's attack seemingly fizzles out before the ball dropped to the freshman who's first shot of her college career from 30 yards out floated high into the Tennessee sunset before dipping perfectly into the top left corner of the RedHawk goal.

Down two returning starters in the event, the young Lady Eagles started just five returners and played seven who were on last season's roster against a Martin Methodist side that is now 38-3-3 since 2016 at home. The RedHawks struck thrice in each half with braces from Suzuho Yamasaki and Estelle Badoedana Ekada. They also benefited from a Faulkner own goal and a tally from Jessica Glassman. The six goals came from 17 shots on frame. Megan White made 12 saves in the loss. She has 43 saves in five games thus far.

The Lady Eagles conclude their red and black clad opponent fall with a trip to Mobile to face the Rams in a non-conference game. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Halloween.
