Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | by: Carter Moles

Early goal not enough against Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. - Ainsley Lockwood struck first just five minutes into the second conference match of the season, but Mobile (1-8-1, 1-1 SSAC) scored four unanswered to down the Lady Eagles 4-1 Saturday in the Jungle.

Lockwood linked up with Klara Ebert and buried a crossnet shot for just the third goal Faulkner Women's Soccer has scored in Mobile in eight matches.

The Rams drew level in the 28th and then took the lead just before the stroke of halftime with 11 seconds to go.

Two second half goals pushed the home team ahead for good on its homecoming game.

Keila Cardeiro Carmona saved 10 shots, marking the third straight double-figure save game. It is the first time since Kasey Gallea in the first three games of 2007 that a Lady Eagle goalkeeper has had double-digit saves in three consecutive contests. Gallea holds the record with six consecutive games back in 2006.

The Lady Eagles (2-8-1, 0-2 SSAC) look to snap a four game skid Thursday night at home against Talladega in the first meeting between the sides in league play. Faulkner is 4-0 with a 38-2 goal differential.
