Team effort sweeps Brewton-Parker

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Every player hit the floor and 14 different Lady Eagles recorded kills in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-19) sweep of Brewton-Parker in the second SSAC matchup for both teams Saturday afternoon in Tine Davis Gymnasium.

Freshman Briana Dukes came off the bench to start the second set and lit the warm gym on fire. The Slidell, La. native struck a team-leading six kills on just seven attacks while assisting two blocks.

Faulkner (3-3, 2-0 SSAC) won seven of the first eight points before the Barons whittled back into the set to cut the deficit to two before Alysa Vinson killed two of the next three points sparking a run of six kills, an ace and a block to pull comfortably away. Vinson tied Dukes for the most kills and completed her double-double with a team-leading 11 digs.

As a team, the Lady Eagles hit .287 with 37 kills, registering double-figure kills each set. The block was strong once again, as four players recorded multiple assisted blocks. The libero-less defense held Brewton-Parker to a .011 attack percentage tallying 43 digs in addition to nine blocks.

The setting tandem of Alyssa Stagner and Macy Kemper picked up 17 and 12 assists, respectively in the 6-2 rotation.

Faulkner travels to Marietta, Ga. to take on Life Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
