MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A 10th minute goal by Alejo Binaghi proved to be too much to overcome for the Eagles (1-7-1, 0-3 SSAC) as they fell 2-0 Thursday night to sixth-ranked Mobile (6-2, 2-1 SSAC) in a very physical SSAC Men's Soccer Game of the Week.
Ram captain Harry Jewitt's long ball to the left side found Alejandro Lozano who crossed to Binaghi for the eventual game winner. Jose Reis scored the sealer in the 66th minute worm-burning a cross goal effort following a nice dribble.
Faulkner's best chances did not come from any of its four shots on target.
Hiago Gaspar's 16th minute shot barely missed to the left and
Antoine Marques's 25th minute effort eluded marginally to the right. The Eagles fired just two shots on target in the first 86 minutes against a stout Mobile defense that had allowed just 18 shots on target in its first seven matches..
Gaspar led the team with shots and shots on target.
Nic Fischer made two stops including a point-blank effort in the eighth minute.
The Eagles welcome Middle Georgia Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for a pivotal SSAC matchup.
