TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - Two second half goals from the hosts handed Faulkner a 3-1 loss Thursday night against Florida College in its final conference game before postseason play. The Eagles are not out of contention to host despite the loss but it's all out of their hands now. They need Middle Georgia to drop both its contests this weekend on the road at #7 Mobile Saturday and #2 William Carey to host the fifth seed in the tournament.
Daniel Oelmez equalized in the 36th minute following Camilo Arango's opener in the 24th.Â
The Falcons, who picked up their first win of league play after being eliminated from postseason contention, got goals from Uziel Hernandez and Danila Alferov in the 61st and 72nd minutes, respectively to win and seal the match.
Nic Fischer made six saves in the loss. Faulkner was outshot 15-9 during the evening.
The Eagles will travel to Thomas to face the Night Hawks Saturday at 3 p.m. central.
