Ebert's first half hat trick sparks rout of Florida College

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - Klara Ebert's first half hat trick highlighted a 6-0 road win over Florida College Thursday evening in Faulkner's final SSAC regular season game.

The native of Mannheim City, Germany buried three goals by the 14th minute. At the four minute mark, Ebert applied the finishing touches to a counter off a Lady Falcon free kick to score the eventual game-winner. Six minutes later, she intercepted a pass from home goalkeeper Leah Hughes and shot, taking a deflection causing an absurd amount of spin to bounce the ball over Hughes and into the net. Ebert, who had scored just once in her two seasons at Faulkner before Thursday, completed her hat trick in the 14th minute sending a right-footed effort to the left side netting.

Kassidy Taylor headed in her first collegiate goal in the 29th minute from Camila Parada's free kick to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. Wasting no time after the break, Sarah Jane Hamm scored in 105 seconds into the second half for her first Faulkner goal to push the lead to 5-0. Faith Pelletier-King scored in the 60th to seal the 6-0 scoreline.

The Lady Eagles are almost solidified into the three seed to host Dalton State for the first round. The only scenario where this matchup with the Roadrunners would not happen is if Brewton-Parker wins out and William Carey loses out, the Lady Eagles could potentially drop to fourth with tiebreaks.

Faulkner travels to Thomasville, Ga. to take on Thomas Saturday at 12:30 central.
