Back-to-back champs too much to handle

Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The back-to-back champions proved to be too much Saturday morning as Faulkner lost 5-0 to Keiser.

The match quickly fell to the Seahawks who turned in three goals by the eighth minute, including two in the first four. After holding Keiser off the scoreboard for nearly 45 minutes, the hosts added two more in the 63rd and 74th minutes.

Keila Cardeiro tallied 19 saves while surrendering five including a penalty. Her 19 saves ties for the third best in program history with Kasey Gallea in 2007 against Shorter and Megan White against Texas A&M Texarkana in 2019.

The Lady Eagles travel to Hattiesburg to face the national runner-up and SSAC champion William Carey Sept. 30 at 5 p.m.
