TALLADEGA, Ala. - Faulkner closed out its seven match road trip with a dominant 12-0 win over SSAC foe Talladega Saturday afternoon with a pair of hat tricks from
Remmie Ferla and
Alessia Confalonieri and is 2-0 in conference play for the first time since 2011.
Ferla started the party just 96 seconds into the match with her first Faulkner goal.
Libby Graham opened her Lady Eagle account 24 seconds later to double the lead by the two minute mark. Ferla again added to the lead in the seventh minute before completing the hat trick in the 17th, becoming the third different Lady Eagle to do so on the season.
Marta Gonzalez got on the board in the 21st with her first Faulkner goal as well before
Annabel Cuthbert netted her seventh of the season in the 30th.
Confalonieri scored twice 10 minutes apart in the 31st and 41st minutes to take an 8-0 advantage into the half.
Elodie Metho scored her third of the week to give the Lady Eagles a 9-0 lead in the 56th minute. In the 68th,
Jessica Jaimes scored her first Faulkner goal.
Kaitlyn Ambrose buried her fourth goal of the year as the clock hit 82 minutes before Confalonieri scored her ninth goal of the season to complete her second hat trick of the year in the 88th to seal the scoreline.
Keila Cardiero Carmona and
Reagan Embry each collected a save in the third straight shutout as the defense allowed just two shots. Faulkner shot 34 times and clinically put 27 on target, the most shots on goal since 2019 when it put 36 against Judson.
Faulkner is 7-2-1 on the season and will come back home to take on new conference foe LIfe (2-4-2, 0-1-1) Thursday evening at 5 p.m.
