Faulkner takes over late in blowout win over PCC

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Lady Eagles never trailed Tuesday night as they flew past Pensacola Christian 79-45 for their sixth win of the season.
Faulkner used a 16-4 first quarter run to open its lead to as many as 12 points before Pensacola Christian worked the deficit down to seven in the second. A Nequoia Adams bucket with 41 seconds remaining in the frame left Faulkner with a 31-22 lead heading into halftime.

PCC kept it within single digits until the 44 second mark of the third quarter when Lanie Henderson drained a three. Morgan Holland knocked down a shot to end the quarter and Faulkner extended the dominant run to 22-0 until Leah Phelps scored with 3:22 left in the game. Faulkner outscored Pensacola Christian 27-7 in the fourth quarter while limiting the home team to 10 percent shooting from the floor in the frame. PCC shot just 30.4 percent from the filed on the evening while Faulkner knocked down 40.5 percent of its shots.

Faulkner out-rebounded Pensacola 51-28 with 21 of its boards coming on the offensive end. They turned that total in 21 second chance points while parlaying 19 PCC turnovers into 17 points.
