MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner trailed for just under two minutes Friday as it opened the Thanksgiving Classic with a 69-55 victory over Reinhardt. Faulkner grabbed the lead with 9:20 to play in the first quarter and proceeded to balloon the lead to 11 before Reinhardt started making its comeback. Reinhardt knocked down a trio of threes in the second quarter as part of a 22-14 run that sent them to halftime down only 32-29.

Faulkner asserted itself early in the third quarter when it dumped the ball down to Angela Grant for a pair of buckets to stretch the advantage to seven.

Later in the quarter, Nequoia Adams went on a personal 6-0 to push the advantage to 44-35 by the 5:26 mark of the third. Reinhardt got the deficit to within four in the fourth quarter before a 7-0 run moved the lead back into double figures. Faulkner ended the game on a 13-3 run, capping the scoring with a pair of Morgan Holland free throws.

Holland topped all scorers with 21 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. Adams contributed 16 points while Grant turned in her 30th career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Faulkner returns to action Sunday at 2 p.m. when it hosts Bethel to close the Thanksgiving Classic.
