Ashlei Bryant's 10th minute equalizer helped spark a goal-filled contest that saw the Lady Eagles (2-6-2, 0-5-1 SSAC) on the losing side 5-2 Thursday afternoon against SSAC foe Thomas (8-5-1, 4-2-1 SSAC) a
Bryant made a smart run into the middle of the box around a skilled dribble from
Elodie Metho who dropped in a perfect cross for the Cullman, Ala. native to volley in her first career goal to negate a third minute tally from the Nighthawks.
However, Thomas found difference makers in the 32nd and 43rd minutes to make the score 3-1 at half.
The Nighthawks would add two more in fairly quick succession in the 61st and 69th minutes to increase the host advantage to 5-1.
Metho got one back in the 71st minute after a great dribble and through ball by
Libby Graham broke Metho into a one-on-one before the keeper rushed out to help before Metho got around both Nighthawk defenders to the open net.
