WEST POINT, Ga. - Faulkner fell Friday night to new SSAC foe Point on the road in straight sets 25-13, 25-21, 25-17.
The Lady Eagles trailed 6-5 in the first set before the Skyhawks rattled off a 7-1 run to take control.
The second set saw a couple big momentum swings as the Skyhawks jumped to a 4-0 lead and eventually a 7-2 advantage. However, Faulkner adjusted well out of the timeout and chipped away to make it 11-9 before a 6-1 Point run pulled the visitors away at 17-10. Faulkner pulled right back into the action and brought the set to 22-20 but could not get closer.
In the third set, Faulkner held a 3-1 advantage before the hosts pulled together and 8-0 run to take control of the match for the sweep.
Victoria Wheeler and
Haven Owings led the team with seven kills.
Mandi Hart had 22 assists.
Ashton McCullar led the team with 15 digs.
The Lady Eagles travel to Marietta, Ga. to take on Life Saturday afternoon.
