TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Faulkner softball fell below .500 Saturday as it suffered a doubleheader sweep against Stillman.
STILLMAN 9, FAULKNER 1
Stillman opened the doubleheader by scoring four runs in each of the second and sixth innings to anchor a 9-1 run-rule victory over Faulkner.
Lauren Haskins scored on a passed ball in the first to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Ivey Hill tied the game in the top of the second when she singled home
Colby Adams.
The deadlock did not last long as Stillman had a trio of run-scoring hits in the home half of the second to go up 5-1. A Katelynn Madison two-run homer highlighted the four-run sixth to end the game.
Katelynn Inness (7-6) took the loss, covering only an inning and two-thirds while allowing five earned runs. Lady Eagle pitchers allowed 14 hits and issued three walks in the effort.
For their part, Faulkner managed four singles and a double in the contest.
STILLMAN 5, FAULKNER 3
The Lady Eagles led 2-1 after the top of the sixth but saw the Stillman bats account for four runs in the home half of the inning on the way to a 5-3 loss.

Markie Hicks to get Faulkner on the board in the second inning. The Lady Eagles took the lead in the fourth when Hart. Singled in

Carolyn Carter tied the game in the sixth when her single plated Bailey Seales. Katelynn Lankford gave the Tigers the lead with a three-run homer the proved the decisive blow of the contest.
Faulkner made an effort to get back in it in the top of the seventh.
Anna Purvis blasted a one-out homer to cut it to 5-3.

AnnaMarie Stooksbury drew a walk to load the bases with one away. A strikeout and a groundout ended the game, sending the Lady Eagles home with an 0-2 weekend.
Ivey Hill (3-2) worked a complete game effort in the loss.
Faulkner (13-14, 5-9 SSAC) is set to face Southeastern Baptist Monday in a doubleheader.
