AUSTIN, Texas - On top of First Team All-SSAC, SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team, NFCA All-Region and Third Team NAIA All-America honors, Sarah Williams, Chloe Davidson and Addyson Jarman have capped off the softball season with one of the highest honors a college athlete regardless of sport can receive. The trio has earned spots on the College Sports Communicators NAIA Softball Academic All-America® First Team, highlighting their achievements on the field and in the classroom. The three players are the first Academic All-America winners in Faulkner softball history, and for the academic year, they join Asaph Silveira on the CSC 2025 NAIA Men's Soccer Second Team to bring the athletic department's total number of Academic All-America honors to 16.
The program honors players from the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels who have at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically, have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and, for softball, have competed in 90 percent or started at least 66 percent of their team's games. Candidates are nominated by their school's Sports Information Directors, who have the option of leaving certain nominations at the All-District level or advancing them to the All-America ballot. The nominations go to an Academic All-America subcommittee, who is tasked with examining each candidate and advancing only those with the highest academic and athletic credentials, and the resulting list of candidates are voted on by Sports Information Directors nationwide who are CSC members.
Williams slots in at the First Team catcher spot as the junior started all 53 games at either catcher. Williams batted .429 with 66 hits, 18 of the extra-base variety, with 47 RBI and 17 runs scored for a slugging mark of .571 and an on-base percentage of .466. She tied Jarman for a team lead of 16 doubles and struck out only four times with a nearly perfect .989 percentage on defense. She earned her undergrad degree earlier this month in Health Sciences with an Occupational Therapy focus in three years with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA and Summa Cum Laude honors, as she'll begin postgrad work for her last year of eligibility.
Jarman earns one of the three outfielder spots in her first year of eligibility for the award along with her second First Team All-SSAC and NFCA First Team All-Region honors in as many seasons. The sophomore centerfielder batted .397 across all 53 games with 69 hits, 52 RBI and 47 runs scored to go with a .421 on-base percentage, 24 stolen bases and a .970 fielding mark. However, her biggest impact came in her 29 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs, as she slugged .701 with an OPS of 1.122 to lead all qualifying Faulkner batters, winning three straight SSAC Player of the Week awards in April. She holds a 3.98 GPA as an Exercise Science major with a Physical Therapy focus and has earned President's List honors with a 4.0 GPA in three of her four semesters.
Last but certainly not least, on top of her fourth First Team All-SSAC honor in as many years and her repeat SSAC Player of the Year and Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year plaudits, Davidson ends her Faulkner career with a placement on the prestigious award list in her second CSC All-District season. The senior second baseman led the SSAC in batting for a second straight season with a .442 mark while missing three games and racked up 72 hits, 36 runs scored and 23 RBI, along with .552 slugging, a .503 on-base mark and a .978 fielding percentage. She earned her degree in Health Sciences earlier this month with a 3.98 GPA, with a 4.0 and institutional President's List honors in seven of her eight semesters, and has been accepted into Faulkner's Speech Language Pathology program.
